About the role
We are looking to recruit a full-time Kitchen Assistant to work in our care home as part of our Catering Team (three days+ a week working alternating weekends 7.00 - 5.30). As a Kitchen Assistant you’ll help to produce meals alongside the chef and support all catering functions within the home. Preparing special diet meals as directed by the Chef. The Kitchen Assistant role is so important as you will be part of providing a healthy, nutritious diet vital for ensuring our residents’ wellbeing and helping them enjoy daily life with us. There’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to get to know our residents, enhance their hospitality experience and develop your skills.
About you
As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play an important role in the success of the care home. You will be considerate, reliable, and caring in your approach. That’s why we’re looking for someone who’s committed to maintaining the highest standards in the kitchen and during the food preparation process. Formal qualifications aren’t necessary, although any similar experience gained in a commercial or care setting would be beneficial.
Summary of the Role
To work alongside the Chef to ensure that all kitchen services are efficient and that the required Health & Safety measures are adhered to within the department. The Kitchen Assistant assists with all the working areas within the home’s kitchen. Responsibilities will include food preparation, washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen area.
