Role Overview
We are a growing healthcare organisation operating two community pharmacy branches, committed to delivering high-quality patient care and accessible health services. We are seeking a creative, motivated, and digitally skilled individual to lead the development and ongoing management of our online presence.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building websites from the ground up and creating engaging digital content that helps healthcare services connect more effectively with patients and local communities.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the organisation’s websites, as well as managing and growing our social media presence across multiple platforms. Your work will play a key role in improving patient engagement, promoting pharmacy services, and strengthening our brand within the local healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and launch websites for the pharmacy group from concept through to completion.
- Maintain and regularly update website content, including services, opening hours, health advice, and announcements.
- Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, mobile-friendly, and optimised for performance.
- Implement SEO strategies to improve visibility for healthcare and pharmacy-related searches.
- Create and manage digital features such as prescription enquiry forms, service booking pages, and patient information sections.
- Develop and manage social media accounts across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Create engaging and compliant healthcare-focused content, including graphics, videos, posts, and promotional campaigns.
- Support patient education and awareness through accurate and accessible digital content.
- Monitor website and social media performance, producing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Work closely with pharmacy managers and leadership to support digital communication strategies.
- Stay up to date with digital marketing trends, especially within healthcare and community pharmacy settings.
Skills & Competencies
Essential Skills
- Strong web design and website development skills.
- Experience using WordPress or similar content management systems.
- Understanding of SEO principles and website optimisation.
- Ability to create and manage social media content across multiple platforms.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to simplify healthcare-related information.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling healthcare information.
- Basic graphic design skills for digital content creation.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and basic front-end development.
- Experience producing video content for social media.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics or other performance tracking tools.
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
- Understanding of paid social media advertising and campaign management.
- Previous experience working in healthcare, pharmacy, NHS, or regulated environments.
Experience
- Experience in website design, development, and ongoing management (preferably for small businesses or service-based organisations).
- Proven experience managing social media accounts and creating engaging digital content.
- Experience developing content strategies to improve online engagement and visibility.
- Prior experience working with brands in a regulated sector (such as healthcare) is beneficial but not essential.
Qualifications
- A qualification in Digital Marketing, Web Development, Graphic Design, Media, or a related field is desirable.
- Equivalent professional experience in web design, social media management, or digital marketing will also be considered.
- Certifications in WordPress, SEO, Google Analytics, or digital marketing platforms would be an advantage.
