Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. This vital role involves providing high-quality care and support to children in a residential setting, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. The successful candidate will work closely with children, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote well-being, development, and positive behaviour. Responsibilities
- Offer personalised care and emotional support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and recreational activities
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with relevant professionals
- Support children with educational activities and encourage participation in social and community events
- Monitor behavioural patterns and provide appropriate guidance to promote positive development
- Drive children to appointments, school, or leisure activities as required, ensuring safe transportation
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and progress in compliance with organisational policies
- Communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support
- Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures diligently to protect vulnerable children at all times
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record for transporting children safely
- Knowledge of child development principles and care planning processes
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build trusting relationships
- Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Compassionate attitude with strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care or equivalent needed
