We are looking for a friendly, proactive, and dependable individual to join our team as a Caretaker. This is a varied and hands-on role that is essential to the day to day running of the centre. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people, take pride in maintaining high standards, be practical with maintenance tasks, and be flexible enough to support the wide range of activities that take place across the venue.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the building and grounds. The role will include the organisation of the centre facilities for events, sessions, and groups using the centre. Key to this role is ensuring the effective and efficient operation of The Whitworth.
Responsibilities & Duties
Include but are not limited to:
- To undertake the regular cleaning of all areas of the building.
- To proactively support centre users and assist with their needs within the scope of the position.
- To undertake maintenance throughout the building and grounds under the direction of the Supervisor.
- Greet visitors and direct them to their rooms.
- Set up furniture and dress rooms according to specific requirements.
- Open and close the building where necessary, ensuring the security of the premises.
- Perform general caretaking and office duties, such as requesting supplies, maintaining records, and updating information.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed.
- Work with the wider team, passing on relevant information to the events, café, and office staff.
Working Hours
This role requires flexibility and will include mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
