Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled operator/driver to join our team. We're looking for someone who is keen to learn and looking to progress in the recycling / waste sector. Previous experience is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided- attitude is more important than experience. A confident driver with no previous convictions is essential.
We operate Monday to Friday starting at 7:30am from Carmunnock, G76 and finishing when the days jobs are complete, generally 3-5pm but this is dependent on the particular days' workload. 40-45 hrs per week expected. 4 weeks holiday per year plus paid bank holidays.
All applicants must pass a basic Police Scotland Check and hold a full UK drivers license with no convictions.
Responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles to pick up waste from designated locations.
- Ensure all jobs are picked up on time and in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding pickup schedules and any potential issues.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of completed jobs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
Requirements
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience as a Delivery Driver or Van Driver is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for performing basic vehicle maintenance.
- Previous experience in commercial driving is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely as required during loading and unloading processes.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
