The Role:
To provide quality control of production coming from the Weaving department.
Knowledge of products, dimensional tolerances & terminology used is beneficial
Early, back and night shift work may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
· Carry out the first Inspection process of all heavyweight finished products, help assess work priorities and liaise with the Weaving and Finishing team leaders.
· Operate the perch to visually check both sides of finished products for potential quality issues, which include dimensional tolerance, colours, design, pattern and finish.
· Mark potential faults, using standard procedure and escalate serious issues to the appropriate person i.e. weaving technical lead, finishing technical lead
· Record every transaction and fault on piece tickets, quality tracker and book into AX.
· Ensure that machinery is kept cleaned and maintained.
· Train team members in effective working procedures and quality standards.
· Process & inspect all returns following the returns procedure.
· Feedback information to First Inspection on questions/concerns as they arise.
· Work to support safe working environments and practices for self and others
· Gain a good understanding of the weaving process, to help find faults as they happen
· Have a proactive approach to Quality and continuous improvement
· Be flexible in assisting other workcentres where necessary, to suit business needs
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods
- Good hand eye coordination
- Able to lift light materials and work in a factory environment
