This role gives you the opportunity to develop your leadership and operational management expertise within a fast-paced Managed Payroll environment. You'll oversee the day-to-day delivery of payroll operations, ensuring workloads are effectively planned, resources are managed efficiently, and statutory and contractual obligations are consistently met.
You'll strengthen your people management skills by leading performance reviews, coaching and developing team members, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and creating development plans that help individuals reach their full potential. Alongside this, you'll broaden your experience in operational planning, audit support, performance management, and stakeholder engagement.
As part of an evolving service, you'll also play an active role in transformation initiatives - supporting the implementation of new systems, processes, and technologies while helping your team embrace change and continuously improve the way they work.
You'll lead a dedicated payroll team, creating an environment where collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement thrive. Working closely with the Payroll Manager and cross-functional teams, you'll provide coaching, support, and clear direction to help your team deliver an outstanding service to customers. You'll also work alongside colleagues across the business to share best practice, support service improvements, and ensure a consistent approach to payroll delivery.
Your leadership will directly influence the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of Managed Payroll services. By ensuring payroll operations run smoothly, monitoring performance against SLAs and KPIs, and proactively managing resources, you'll help deliver an exceptional customer experience.
You'll take ownership of complex escalations, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively while identifying opportunities to prevent future occurrences. Through continuous process improvement, automation initiatives, and the adoption of best practice, you'll enhance operational efficiency, reduce risk, and improve service quality.
Most importantly, you'll build a high-performing, engaged team that consistently delivers accurate, compliant payroll services while supporting the ongoing growth and transformation of the Managed Payroll function.
