About the Role
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for experienced Social Workers to join our well-established Assessment Teams within the Integrated Front Door service.
Our Front Door brings together:
- Emergency Duty Team (EDT)
- Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
- 4 Assessment Teams
You’ll work in a dynamic, collaborative environment completing Section 17 and Section 47 assessments, alongside child impact reports (similar to Section 7 reports), ensuring timely and effective interventions for children and families.
Working Arrangements
- Duty week: Office-based
- Non-duty weeks: Minimum 2 days in the office per week
- Flexible working options may be considered
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant Social Work England registration
- Strong experience in duty and assessment work
- Confident completing Section 17 & Section 47 assessments
- Passionate about delivering high-quality interventions for children
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential car user role)
Caseload
- Typically 16–20 children
- Stable caseloads maintained for over a year
Additional Information
- This is an Essential Car User post – you must be able to drive and use your own vehicle
- Solihull’s semi-rural location requires flexibility for travel
