Miller Knight is a leading principal contractor specialising in passive fire protection, fire door remediation and refurbishment projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Joiner / Supervisor to join our team on a long-term fire door remediation project in Stevenage, with an immediate start available.
This project is expected to last 4-6 months, with further opportunities available on future projects for the right person.
If you're a hands-on Joiner with supervisory experience who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and leading by example, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
You'll be responsible for carrying out fire door remediation works while supervising a small team of operatives, ensuring work is completed safely, to programme and in line with the required quality and compliance standards.
Training will be provided on Miller Knight's processes and technical requirements where needed.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who has:
- A joinery/carpentry background with proven hands-on experience.
- Experience carrying out fire door remediation works.
- A basic understanding of fire door regulations and technical compliance (training provided where required).
- A valid CSCS Card.
- Previous experience supervising small teams (typically up to three operatives).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Their own transport to travel to the Stevenage project.
Desirable (but not essential)
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
