Job Summary
Thirlestane Castle requires a Marketing and Sales Assistant to assist with the marketing and sales of accommodation, weddings, groups, corporate, day visitors and events at the Castle under the direction and with the assistance from Trustees and the management team working to meet agreed revenue targets.
Thirlestane Castle is a family home and a Charitable Trust. The Trust is a Scottish registered charity and operates as a Heritage Visitor Attraction, a provider of short stay accommodation and is an Events venue.
Key Responsibility:
- To execute the day-to-day marketing derived from the annual strategy and budget
Marketing Job Role:
- To work alongside the Thirlestane Castle Trustees and external marketing agency to help execute the annual marketing strategy within brand guidelines.
- To manage the annual marketing budget, recording all expenses on a monthly basis.
- To maintain the Thirlestane website to a high standard.
- Copywriting for website blogs, press releases, newsletters and social media derived from the annual content plan.
- Social media management - content creation, post scheduling and management of platforms.
- Creation and management of paid social media advertising and google advertising.
- Management, maintenance and regular communication with third party listings, memberships and organisations.
- B2B and B2C email communications and database management for the Castle and Estate.
- Managing print advertising including some design work.
- To aid in the creation and execution of marketing materials such as brochures and flyers when required.
- Manage distribution of marketing materials.
- Aiding the execution of specific marketing campaigns.
- To assist with networking and membership events when required.
- Monthly reporting of all marketing KPIs and statistics.
- Helping to answer marketing enquiries to the Castle email
- Replying to initial sales emails.
- Assisting with working up proposals for enquiries.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
- Minimum of two years of marketing experience (required) including specific work within Digital Marketing (preferred).
- Knowledge and confidence of using programmes such as WordPress, Google Analytics and Mailchimp (required).
- A strong understanding of all social media platforms and how to optimise these channels.
- General experience working within visitor attractions, event venues or historic houses.
- Full driving licence.

Pay: £12,500.00 per year
