Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in our fast-paced Waste Distribution Facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate the forklift safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the distribution facility.
- Loading and unloading lorries and shipping containers.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory.
- Conduct routine equipment checks.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a similar role.
- Valid forklift certification is required; additional training may be provided.
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and equipment operation.
Duties
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and organise materials throughout the facility
- Load and unload trucks efficiently, ensuring accuracy and safety during handling
- Utilise facility management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
- Conduct routine equipment inspections
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation to prevent damage or accidents
- Support management with inventory counts
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse environment
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems for tracking inventory
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent materials handling skills with attention to detail
