Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Support Worker to provide high-quality care to our clients in various settings, including care homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting patients with diverse needs, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and behaviour management strategies
- Assist with mobility and transfer tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Support patients' emotional well-being through compassionate interaction and behaviour management
- Follow prescribed care plans and case management protocols to ensure individualised support
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care
Skills
- Proven experience in nursing home or care home environments, particularly in senior or dementia care
- First aid certification is highly desirable
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards patients with complex needs
- Ability to manage behaviour effectively and implement care plans accordingly
- Excellent organisational skills for maintaining accurate documentation and case management records
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with colleagues, patients, and families
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and assisting with patient mobility tasks
