About The Clubhouse
The Clubhouse is an independent venue with a unique personality. We champion independent breweries, specialise in quality craft beer and have created a relaxed, welcoming space where people can enjoy great drinks, retro gaming, sports memorabilia, board games and good company.
We're not a large chain or a late-night cocktail bar. We pride ourselves on offering something different and we're looking for the right person to help us continue to grow.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Bar Manager / Venue Manager to take ownership of our venue.
This is a position of trust. You'll be a key holder, often working independently, responsible for ensuring every shift runs smoothly from opening through to close.
As a small independent business, this is a hands-on role. You'll be involved in every aspect of running the venue—from preparing for service and looking after customers to maintaining high standards and helping us develop new ideas that encourage more people to visit.

Key Responsibilities
- Independently open, prepare and close the venue.
- Lead and support a small team.
- Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness throughout every shift.
- Keep the bar fully stocked, organised and well presented.
- Ensure customer areas, toilets and outdoor seating remain clean, safe and welcoming.
- Set up and pack away the outdoor seating area.
- Ensure our retro games, board games and customer spaces are always ready to enjoy.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements.
- Create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere by engaging with customers.
- Help develop new ideas, promotions and events that increase footfall.
- Ensure the venue is secure and ready for the next trading day.
Who We're Looking ForEssential
- Previous experience managing or independently running a bar.
- Experience opening and closing a licensed premises.
- Genuine knowledge of, or enthusiasm for, craft beer and independent breweries.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Honest, trustworthy and dependable.
- Confident working independently.
- Previous experience leading and developing a team.
- Someone who naturally takes ownership and uses their initiative.
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
Desirable
- Experience managing social media.
- Experience organising or promoting events.
- Creative ideas for attracting new customers and developing the venue.
- An interest in sport, gaming or community events.
Hours of Work
This is a part-time weekend role and applicants must be available every Friday and Saturday.
Friday
- Arrival from 3:30pm to prepare the venue.
- Open from 4:00pm.
- Finish time varies depending on trade.
Saturday
- Arrival from 12:30pm to prepare the venue.
- Open from 1:00pm.
- Finish time varies depending on trade.
There will also be opportunities to work additional evenings, Sundays, private bookings and special events.
We're looking for someone who can be flexible as the business grows and who is excited about helping us create more reasons for customers to visit.
