A Relief Security Officer is required at a large mixed use retail site near Broadstairs in Kent on an 8 hours per week minimum fixed term contract.
This varied role offers the opportunity to engage with our guests to create a memorable shopping and leisure experience, as well as keeping the site safe and secure for both guests and staff. Both day and night work is required, with shifts typically 12 hours. The role requires flexibility, however usually there will be notice in advance of the required hours of work.
Job Overview
To protect our customer's property, people and assets by providing security services in accordance with the site Assignment Instructions (AI's).
Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability.
To undertake periodic training to ensure you keep up to date with organisational, client and industry standards.
Main Duties
Operations
To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the line and Contract Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, thus familiarising oneself with any changes in order to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.
To be compliant with Industry and Statutory which must be worn at all times whilst carrying out your duties.
Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
Follow instructions and procedures appropriately.
Work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.
Training provided:
Guest Experience, how we conduct ourselves and our business, Control Room duties and site specific security and practices
We use a range of technology to achieve key work objectives and administration.
Security and Health & Safety
Look out for, and to report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging guests.
Complete regular patrols around site, reporting issues with safety, security or anything that may impact Centre operations
Engage with guests, answering queries and being a polite and friendly presence
Attend First Aid incidents
Act as a visible deterrent
Provide clear instruction to guests in an emergency or otherwise unsafe situation
Complete CCTV duties in the Control room
Complete accurate, detailed reporting as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
To follow the escalation and reporting processes in event of an emergency or other serious incident.
