Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Shunter to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of containers within the port of Felixstowe and to depots in the surrounding area.
Duties
- Safely manoeuvre HGVs around the yard, ensuring efficient positioning for loading and unloading.
- Conduct regular checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working order before moving them.
- Collaborate with prologic planning staff to coordinate the flow of goods and make sure deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements and report any issues or incidents promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations while operating vehicles within the yard.
Requirements
- Valid HGV driving licence with experience in commercial driving.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the Port of Felixstowe and hold a valid RHIDES card.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and safety awareness.
