About Tank Consult.
Tank Consult Ltd is a growing construction and engineering business specialising in reinforced concrete and bolted steel liquid storage tanks. We are looking for an experienced, proactive Senior Assistant Accountant to support the Financial Controller across day-to-day accounts, project accounting, cash flow and month-end reporting.
Key Responsibilities and duties.
· Manage day-to-day purchase and sales ledger activity.
· Process and code purchase invoices, matching to POs and project costs.
· Raise sales invoices and applications for payment.
· Prepare supplier payment runs and reconcile supplier statements.
· Manage credit control and resolve customer and supplier queries.
· Process expenses and company credit card transactions.
· Complete bank reconciliations and support cash flow reporting.
· Prepare and post journals in Sage 50 and assist with month-end reporting.
· Support project costing, WIP reviews and balance sheet reconciliations.
· Prepare VAT returns and monthly CIS returns for review.
· Prepare and process weekly payroll and allocate payroll costs to projects.
· Liaise with project managers and site teams on finance-related queries.
· Support improvements to finance processes, controls and reporting.
· Provide day-to-day support to the Financial Controller.
About You.
· We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and comfortable taking responsibility for their own workload.
· Previous experience in a busy accounts or finance role.
· Good working knowledge of Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel.
· Experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, credit control and month-end. · Experience of weekly payroll.
· Good understanding of VAT; CIS knowledge would be advantageous.
· AAT qualified or equivalent practical accounting experience.
· Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing or a project-based business is desirable.
· Strong attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving skills.
· Confident communicator with a proactive, hands-on approach.

Working Hours
Working hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am-4pm Friday with additional hours required as and when business volumes demand.

Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
