We are seeking a motivated and skilled Self Employed Motor Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of motor vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs efficiently
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting, equipment repair, welding, and other physically demanding tasks
- Communicate clearly with clients about repair needs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations to ensure excellent customer service
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for each vehicle
- Assist with routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes
- Strong understanding of automotive systems including electrical wiring and mechanical components
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
- Prior experience in equipment repair or maintenance is preferred but not mandatory
