Anavo’s brand new care home in Havant will feature 78 bedrooms, set in beautifully landscaped and accessibly friendly grounds. The H-shaped building incorporates five households in a part two, part three-storey design. The design uses the natural landscape to blend the care home seamlessly into its surroundings, minimising its impact while creating cosy and secure spaces for our residents to enjoy, both indoors and out.

About the Role
As Clinical Deputy Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the home, combining hands-on clinical practice with operational management responsibilities. You will lead by example, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, regulatory compliance and team performance.
You will deputise for the Registered Manager when required and help create a positive, supportive culture that enables both residents and colleagues to flourish.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
Provide high-quality nursing care through regular clinical shifts.
Support and deputise for the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home.
Lead, supervise and support Registered Nurses, Team Leaders and Care Teams.
Monitor and improve clinical practice to ensure excellent standards of resident care.
Conduct clinical supervision and support the professional development of nursing staff.
Complete pre-admission assessments for prospective residents.
Liaise with residents, families, commissioners, GPs and other healthcare professionals.
Care Quality & Governance
Oversee care planning, care records and clinical documentation.
Ensure safe management of medicines, including ordering, storage, administration, recording and disposal.
Monitor the use and maintenance of clinical equipment.
Complete clinical audits, quality assurance activities and action plans.
Analyse incidents, accidents and falls, producing monthly audit reports and implementing improvements.
Support the home in achieving and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Operations
Participate in the home's management team, attending meetings and contributing to service development.
Support effective staffing levels and rota management where required.
Assist with recruitment, induction, training and performance management.
Support investigations, complaints, disciplinary processes and safeguarding concerns in line with company policies.
Participate in the on-call rota to ensure effective management support outside normal working hours.
Maintain positive relationships with external agencies and local healthcare professionals.
Notify statutory bodies of reportable incidents where required.
Team Development
Mentor and develop clinical and care staff.
Support mandatory training compliance and maintain accurate training records.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning and excellence.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
Current NMC registration (Registered General Nurse).
Previous experience in a senior nursing or clinical leadership role within a care home or similar setting.
Sound knowledge of clinical governance, medication management and safeguarding.
Strong leadership, organisational and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic care planning systems.
A genuine passion for delivering outstanding, person-centred care.
