Functional / Disability Assessor (PIP)
Salary: £40,000 starting base, rising to
£44,000 within your first 12 months through guaranteed uplifts, plus bonuses
Location: Building 1, Langley Quay, Waterside Drive, Slough, Berkshire, SL3 6EY (site-based / face-to-face, with a 50/50 hybrid option available after training)
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm — no weekends, no shifts, no nights
About the Role Ready to use your clinical experience differently — with your evenings and weekends back?
We're looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Functional / Disability Assessor to join our team. You won't be providing hands-on treatment. Instead, you'll use your clinical expertise to conduct structured assessments, evaluating how long-term health conditions or disabilities affect a person's daily life and mobility, and translating your findings into clear, objective reports that help determine eligibility for support and benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough face-to-face, telephone, or video consultations with individuals living with a range of physical and mental health conditions
- Analyse medical evidence and apply clinical judgement to assess functional capacity
- Write comprehensive, objective, evidence-based reports to a high professional standard
- Maintain empathy, professionalism, and strict confidentiality throughout every assessment
Salary & Guaranteed Pay Progression
PIP Pathway:
- Starting base salary: £40,000
- At 6 months (on approval): £43,000 — £1,000 six-month uplift + £2,000 face-to-face assessor uplift
- At 12 months: £44,000 — additional £1,000 twelve-month uplift
That's up to
£4,000 in guaranteed uplifts within your first year, on top of your starting salary.
Bonuses, Earnings & Skill Progression
- One-off approval bonus: — 5%, paid on successful approval
- Annual performance bonus: — up to 10%, paid quarterly (2.5% per quarter), subject to performance
- Overtime: — paid at time and a half (1.5x) once approved
Voluntary upskilling: once approved and meeting performance targets, train for further salary increases —
- File handling (WCA only): +£500 on approval
- Auditing (PIP & WCA): +£500 on approval

What We're Looking For
- Professional registration: — active registration with NMC, HCPC, or GPhC as a Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Paramedic, or Pharmacist. Adult clinical experience required — you'll be working with individuals aged 16–65
- Clinical experience: — minimum 1 year post-qualification
- Skills: — excellent communication and listening skills, strong analytical ability, confident IT skills, high report-writing capability
- Right to work: — full right to work in the UK required (sponsorship is not available)
