We are seeking a dynamic Learning Mentor to join our Manchester City Centre team. Someone who can support, inspire and motivate students with diverse learning needs. This is an operational, on-site role for an individual with a passion for transforming the lives of young people with SEND. You will work 9-4 five days per week and work term time only - 39 weeks per year. Part time applications will be considered on request. Responsible for supporting the Specialist teacher to deliver consistent, outstanding learning and assessment, ensuring our curriculum is personalised, innovative and outcome focused. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a culture of safety and vigilance across all activities.
Responsibilities
- Support delivery of personalised, high‑quality learning and progression support
- Support students on work placement
- Champion student voice and wellbeing
- Build trusted, professional relationships
- Promote safe, positive, and engaging learning environments
- Support the daily coordination of campus, community, and work‑placement activities,
- Apply effective mentoring strategies
- Maintain accurate, timely records
- Work collaboratively with the Specialist SEND Teacher and Head of Learning
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and risk‑management procedures
- Engage in ongoing training and development
- Represent Beltane College with integrity and enthusiasm
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with autism, disabilities, or in special education settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
