Pre-Weigh Production Operative
Full-Time | Fixed-Term Contract | Potential to Become Permanent
We are a specialist manufacturer of colour and additive solutions for the vinyl, non-vinyl and associated industries. Committed to innovation, sustainability, and excellence, we are looking for an experienced, reliable, and proactive Production Operative to join our Pre-Weigh Department on a full-time, fixed-term basis, with the potential to become permanent.
The Role
Working as part of our production team, you will be responsible for accurately weighing and preparing powdered raw materials and liquid oils to approved formulations and works orders.
Accuracy is essential in this role. You will help ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while maintaining accurate production records.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh and mix powdered raw materials and liquid oils in accordance with approved formulations and works orders
- Carry out basic quality checks throughout the pre-weigh process
- Identify and immediately report discrepancies, contamination or quality concerns
- Package, label and accurately record completed products
- Complete all required production documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Report equipment faults and health & safety concerns promptly
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily, weekly and monthly production targets
- Follow all company health, safety, environmental and quality procedures
- Undertake cross-training within other production departments as required
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
- At least 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Previous experience weighing raw materials or working within plastics, extrusion, chemicals or a similar manufacturing environment would be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
- Good numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to follow formulations and accurately complete paperwork
- A reliable and methodical approach to work
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexibility to undertake training and work across other production areas
- Willingness to work overtime when required, which is paid at an enhanced rate
The role involves manual handling, including lifting and handling materials up to 25kg, and being on your feet for extended periods.
Desirable
- FLT licence
- Previous experience operating industrial manufacturing equipment, including mixers or extruders
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures within a manufacturing environment
- First Aid qualification
