Your Role as a Healthcare Assistant
As a Bank Healthcare Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our residents and ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility support
- Supporting residents during mealtimes and helping with hydration
- Accurately recording care details including food and fluid intake
- Promoting social interaction and engaging residents in meaningful activities
- Working collaboratively with nurses and other team members to deliver 24-hour care
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful environment for all
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A genuine interest in working with older people and vulnerable adults
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to undertake training and development relevant to the role
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately
- Flexibility to work shifts on an as-needed basis
- Right to work in the UK (proof will be required)
- Willingness to undergo an Access NI Enhanced Disclosure Check
- Registration with or willingness to register with NISCC (Northern Ireland Social Care Council)
- Minimum of 6 months paid or voluntary experience in a care or support role

Please note that Maryland Healthcare is unable to provide Certificates of Sponsorship. Therefore, this role is not suitable for individuals who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK.
Access NI Enhanced Disclosure Check:
This role involves regulated activity with vulnerable adults and therefore requires an Enhanced Disclosure Check through Access NI, Northern Ireland’s criminal record checking service.
