Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Area Manager to oversee the operations of five nurseries, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding, and compliance are consistently achieved across all settings.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is passionate about early years education and committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for children. You will work closely with Nursery Managers and Deputy Managers to drive continuous improvement, embed outstanding practice, and create environments where children, families and staff can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight across five nursery settings.
- Ensure every nursery consistently delivers high-quality early years practice in line with the EYFS framework and statutory requirements
- Support, coach, and mentor Nursery Managers and Deputy Managers to achieve excellence in leadership and practice.
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain the highest standards of care, learning, safeguarding, and child development.
- Conduct regular quality assurance visits, audits, observations, and action planning to promote outstanding outcomes.
- Monitor nursery performance, occupancy, budgets, and key performance indicators
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding, health and safety, and all requlatory requirements
- Exceptional: National practice
- Strong Standard: Consistent, high quality work, judgements.
- Develop and retain high-performing teams through effective recruitment, training, coaching, and performance
- Build positive relationships with families, local authorities, and external professionals
- Promote a culture of excellence, inclusion, accountability, and continuous professional development across all nurseries
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager within an early years setting.
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 or above is desirable)
- Thorough knowledge of the EYFS Framework, Safeguarding legislation, and Ofsted requirements.
- Proven experience in leading teams and driving improvements in quality and compliance.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across several nursery settings.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between sites.
