The company operates in two manufacturing facilities in West Yorkshire and owns several high-speed production lines with the capabilities of producing both still and sparkling water servicing leading retailers such as Morrisons, Lidl, Booker Tesco and Sainsbury through private label and produces the brands Ice Valley® and White Rock® exclusively.
Summary:
The Technical Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products meet the established standards of quality, safety, and compliance throughout the manufacturing process. Your role will involve implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, conducting inspections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
This role will support the Quality Manager to manage and maintain the Quality Management System executing all activities related to quality compliance within the facilities procedures.
This role is covers the late shift, working the hours of 2pm - 10pm Monday to Friday.
Job Specification:
- Carry out all activities to meet BRC & Customer standards and requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, equipment, and finished products to identify any deviations or non-conformities.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve processes and prevent reoccurrence.
- Maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet BRC & Customer standard requirements.
- Monitor and analyse quality data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations for process optimisation.
- Supporting the initiation and progression of quality management system activity with other staff.
- Generation, review and approval of relevant quality documentation
- Effective administration of the QMS and document management systems
- Ensuring timely and adequate completion of activities in accordance with regulatory and site-specific authorisations
- Quality Systems: Complete Reporting, reviewing, investigation, root cause analysis, quality risk assessments, Deviations, CAP and Change Controls
- Initiate and support continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
- Delivery of compliance training to operational areas
- Provide training and support to manufacturing personnel on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components used in the manufacturing process.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and inspections and assist in the preparation of documentation and reports as needed.
- To ensure ongoing data integrity, equipment and computer systems validation comply with the Quality Management System, BRC & Customer standard requirements.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in quality assurance practices, and proactively recommend enhancements to existing processes.
Competencies
- Someone with a driving licence and access to a car
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a technical compliance role within the food manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, regulations, and quality management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Good relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- An understanding of the principles of GMP and Global Food Safety Initiatives
- Experienced in BRC and third party and customer audits.

Pay: £30,000.00-£39,810.17 per year
