About the Role
As a Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for delivering consistently high standards of food preparation and service within the home. You will ensure meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and to the dietary needs of residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in line with menu requirements
- Set up and maintain an organised and efficient kitchen environment
- Follow recipes accurately while ensuring consistency and quality
- Adapt meals to meet individual dietary needs and preferences
- Ensure full compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas
- Support and guide kitchen assistants where required
- Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal variations
- Ensure all food is stored, handled, and served safely and appropriately
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook (care home or similar environment preferred)
- Strong understanding of food hygiene standards and kitchen operations
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A passion for preparing nutritious and appetising meals
- Reliable, professional, and committed approach to work
Full-time position with structured daily shifts.
