JOB TITLE: Security and Enforcement Team Leader
LOCATION: Poplar
PAY RATE: £18.90 per hour
HOURS/WORKING PATTERN: 40hrs per week
THE ROLE:
To lead and supervise a team of Network Security and Enforcement Officers, ensuring the safety, security, and compliance of passengers, staff, and assets. The role is responsible for coordinating daily operational activities, managing incidents, supporting operational resilience, and ensuring that all security and response duties are carried out professionally and in accordance with company policies, legislation, and industry standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, support, and motivate the team.
- People management support, including return to work meetings and conducting other HR processes
- Allocate daily duties and deploy resources according to operational priorities.
- A proactive approach to safeguarding on the railway
- Reduction of Trespass and train surfing incidents
- Reduction of general anti-social behaviour
- Response to unsheltered sleeper call outs
- Reduction of asset vandalism
- Customer support with travel and general queries
- Assist with incidents as per assignment instructions
- Report suspicious and criminal activity in line with intelligence gathered
- Deter and detect any type of crime on the railway
- Enforce the rules and regulations pertaining to the network, as per your delegated authority
- Engage with passengers and build community relationships.
- Safely re-set escalators on the route of deployment, as and when requested
- Monitor passenger behaviour and resolving any anti-social behaviour at the allocated location/route
- Report all witnessed security incidents and issues using appropriate methods
- High-visibility security patrols at set locations

- To produce concise but detailed reports on all relevant incidents.
- To complete reports via Incident reporting procedures.
- To liaise effectively with any outside contractors/ stakeholders / emergency services when required.
- To facilitate the flow of information.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Previous experience leading or supervising teams.
- Have in-depth knowledge of ‘Incident, accident and damage’ reporting.
- You must be capable of dealing with a variety of situations and be very customer service focused.
- You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, attaining an adept level of verbal and written English.
- Computer literate, with the ability to compose and reply effectively to multiple forms of written correspondence.
- Conflict management and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, employees, and teams at all levels.
- Must be always smart in appearance and wear the supplied uniform at the standards required.
- Able to work under pressure.
- To carry out other related duties as required in keeping with the grade and purpose.
LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a current SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Manual Driving licence
DESIRABLE:
- Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate and/or Fire Marshal is desirable.
INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:
Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment and address history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods when claiming benefits).
