Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and supporting their early development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while maintaining high standards of childcare and organisational efficiency. The Nursery Manager will also be responsible for leading a team of staff, liaising with parents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Duties
- Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, including staff scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining operational standards
- Lead, motivate, and support nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
- Oversee the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote children's development in line with educational frameworks
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns
- Organise staff training sessions to promote professional development and ensure compliance with childcare regulations
- Conduct regular inspections of the nursery environment to uphold cleanliness, safety standards, and organisational efficiency
- Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and reporting to relevant authorities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance nursery services and child outcomes
Qualifications
- Proven experience in nursery management or a similar leadership role within early childhood education
- Strong management and organisational skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood development, and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Experience working directly with children and understanding their developmental needs
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between nursery locations or community engagement activities
- Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment whilst maintaining professionalism and organisational standards
Pay: £25,066.35-£35,260.46 per year
