About the Role
We are seeking a meticulous, organized, and client-focused Admission Support Officer to join our international education consultancy. This vital role focuses on supporting Chinese students (both currently in the UK and overseas) through the lifecycle of their university application process. The successful candidate will manage student case files, review and optimize application materials, navigate UK university admission portals, and ensure all submissions are accurate and timely. If you have an eye for detail, excellent bilingual communication skills, and a passion for helping students achieve their academic dreams in the UK, this role is perfect for you.
Responsibilities
- Application Management: Oversee the end-to-end application process for designated student clients, including submitting applications via UCAS, university direct portals, and postgraduate admission systems.
- Document Review & Optimization: Review, proofread, and provide constructive feedback on essential application documents (such as Personal Statements, CVs, and Letters of Recommendation) to ensure they meet high UK academic standards.
- Bilingual Client Support: Communicate complex UK admission requirements and updates clearly to Chinese-speaking students and their parents, guiding them on necessary paperwork (e.g., transcripts, language test scores, ATAS, and financial proofs).
- University Liaison: Act as a point of contact with UK university admissions offices to track application statuses, follow up on pending decisions, and clarify specific entry requirements.
- Database & Progress Tracking: Maintain meticulous, up-to-date internal records of student profiles, application timelines, deadlines, and offer conditions using our CRM system.
Requirements
- Bilingual Fluency: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chineseare mandatory to effectively liaise with UK institutions and Chinese clients.
- UK Education Expertise: A deep and thorough understanding of the UK higher education landscape, including detailed knowledge of UCAS procedures, conditional/unconditional offer mechanics, and CAS issuance.
- Meticulous Attention to Detail: Proven ability to spot errors in official documentation, manage strict and overlapping deadlines, and handle sensitive personal data with high confidentiality.
- Strong Writing & Editing Skills: Ability to guide students in structuring compelling personal statements and translating complex academic backgrounds into impactful application narratives.
- Proficiency in IT Systems: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and comfortable navigating various university application portals and CRM databases.
- Interpersonal Skills: Empathic and patient communication style, with the resilience to manage anxious students and demanding timelines during peak application seasons.
- Prior Experience: Previous experience in a UK-focused study abroad agency, university admissions office, or student services environment is highly preferred.
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Manchester (Greater Manchester)
