Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and friendly Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for providing excellent patient care and ensuring smooth daily operations. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary
- Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, ensuring confidentiality and data protection
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently
- Provide information about treatments, procedures, and practice policies in a clear manner
- Support the clinical team with administrative tasks as required
- Organise and maintain the reception area to ensure it remains tidy and welcoming
- Handle billing processes and processing payments accurately
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and external providers to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care or healthcare reception is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- IT proficiency, including experience with dental practice management software or similar systems
- Good interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles or healthcare procedures is advantageous but not mandatory
