CTO — FootEx (The Football Exchange)

FootEx is a fast-growing football app combining daily trivia, live football data, social features and gamification. We’re looking for an ambitious CTO to take ownership of the technology and help scale the product as we grow.
The role
You’ll take overall responsibility for the FootEx technology stack, working closely with the founder and development team to improve, maintain and scale the existing app.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Taking ownership of the existing React Native / Expo, Node.js and Supabase stack.
- Leading and managing the development team.
- Reviewing and improving the existing architecture, codebase and infrastructure.
- Building and prioritising new product features.
- Integrating football data, APIs and third-party services.
- Ensuring the app is secure, reliable, scalable and performant.
- Helping shape the long-term technical roadmap and product strategy.
- Identifying technical risks and making pragmatic decisions about build vs. buy.
Who we're looking for
We want someone who is hands-on, commercially minded and capable of taking full technical ownership of an early-stage product.
You should have:
- Strong full-stack development experience.
- Experience with React Native / Expo, Node.js and databases such as Supabase/PostgreSQL.
- Experience leading developers or owning a product's technical direction.
- A strong understanding of mobile app architecture, APIs and cloud infrastructure.
- The ability to move quickly and make practical decisions in a startup environment.
- A genuine interest in football and/or consumer mobile products.

Pay: From £45,000.00 per year
