Job Title: Parts Advisor
Location: Newtownabbey Depot
Reports to: Parts Manager
Job Purpose:
To support the efficient operation of the Parts Department by providing excellent customer service, maintaining accurate stock control, and ensuring parts are supplied promptly to both internal and external customers. The Parts Advisor will play a key role in maximising parts sales, supporting workshop productivity, and contributing to the overall profitability of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Parts Sales: Provide professional and efficient service to customers, identifying and supplying the correct parts requirements while maximising sales opportunities and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Workshop Support: Work closely with Service and Workshop teams to ensure engineers receive the correct parts in a timely manner, helping minimise machine downtime and support efficient workshop operations.
Stock Management: Assist in maintaining accurate stock levels through effective ordering, receipting, stock control and regular stock checks. Ensure inventory records remain accurate and up to date.
Parts Identification & Ordering: Accurately identify parts using manufacturer systems and parts catalogues. Process customer orders and supplier purchases efficiently while ensuring parts availability is maximised.
Goods Inwards & Dispatch: Receive, inspect and book in deliveries, ensuring all goods are checked for accuracy and quality. Prepare and dispatch customer orders promptly and accurately.
Administration & System Accuracy: Maintain accurate records of parts transactions, quotations, orders and returns. Ensure all departmental systems are updated correctly and paperwork is completed in accordance with company procedures.
Customer Enquiries: Handle telephone, email and counter enquiries professionally, providing advice and support to customers regarding parts availability, pricing and lead times.
Departmental Performance: Support the Parts Manager in achieving departmental objectives, including sales targets, stock turn, gross profit and customer satisfaction measures.
Health & Safety Compliance: Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards within the Parts Department, ensuring a safe, organised and compliant working environment.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Minimum 2 years' Parts Advisor experience within the plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicle or automotive sectors is essential.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Good IT literacy and experience using parts management systems.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to the Dublin Depot from time to time as required.
