Sous Chef – Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen team.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, organisation and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen.
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team during preparation and service.
- Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented consistently to a high standard.
- Organise and coordinate the different kitchen sections during busy services.
- Train, support and motivate CDPs, Commis Chefs and other members of the brigade.
- Monitor food preparation, portion control and wastage.
- Assist with ordering, stock rotation and stock control.
- Ensure excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and health & safety are maintained at all times.
- Help maintain good communication between the kitchen, management and front-of-house team.
- Remain calm, organised and professional during high-volume services.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a busy, high-quality restaurant. You should be hands-on, reliable, organised and comfortable leading a team.
A strong understanding of Italian cuisine and fresh ingredients would be a significant advantage.

8 shifts per week, totalling maximum to 48 hours per week
- two days off per week, alternative weekends
