We are a friendly family run MOT Station/Garage seeking a Workshop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our busy workshop environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all non-management staff, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. An understanding of the dynamics of a family run business is essential. We pride ourselves on creating a happy friendly place to work.
You will also benefit from working half day mid-week (38hr working week).
The Garage Workshop Supervisor will play a pivotal role in coordinating tasks, supervising work processes, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective management.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily workshop activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards
- Coordinate the scheduling of repairs and maintenance jobs, prioritising workload to meet deadlines
- Lead and motivate a team of technicians and reception staff.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct quality control inspections on completed work to maintain service standards
- Manage inventory levels of tools, parts, and equipment, placing orders when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labour hours for reporting purposes. Promote a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualification
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure
- Good communication skills to liaise with team members and customers effectively
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to workshop operations
- Ability to problem-solve quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 certificate is preferred or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Pay: From £32,000.00 per year
