Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Roller Shutter Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is responsible for leading the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of roller shutters and commercial door systems across various commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess a proven technical background in shutter engineering, strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and the ability to deliver exceptional service standards. Duties
Lead the installation, servicing, fault-finding, and repair of roller shutters, industrial doors, and related security equipment at client sites.
Conduct comprehensive routine maintenance checks and safety inspections to ensure full operational safety, compliance, and efficiency.
Proficiently operate specialized equipment, including genie lifts, scissor lifts, and specialized power tools, adhering to safe operating procedures.
Safely transport tools, equipment, and materials to sites using commercial vehicles in full compliance with road safety regulations.
Perform thorough site surveys, risk assessments, and site preparation activities prior to commencing work.
Maintain accurate, professional records of work completed, diagnostic reports, and parts required using company documentation systems.
Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety guidelines, RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to trainee engineers or junior team members on-site where required.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven hands-on experience as a Roller Shutter / Industrial Door Engineer (installation, repair, and maintenance).
A valid full UK driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles is essential.
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding capabilities, including working knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems.
Up-to-date certifications such as CSCS Card, IPAF (for genie/scissor lifts), and PASMA are highly desirable.
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills, with a proactive problem-solving attitude.
