The Glencairn warehouse team are an essential part of our business. They are the link between our production, supply chain and sales operations that ensure our world-famous crystal glasses and decanters get to over 100 countries round the globe.
The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas, in addition to the physical capability for lifting and packing.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and Unloading: Receive incoming shipments, unload delivery vehicles by hand or with equipment, and check goods for damage or missing items against paperwork.
- Picking and Packing: Accurately pick, pack, wrap, and label customer orders for timely dispatch. Treating glass with care and attention at all times
- Stock Management: support regular stock counts and internal warehouse movements, investigating discrepancies to maintain precise stock levels
- Loading and Shipping: Prepare shipments, pack and load goods securely onto outgoing delivery vehicles. Liaise with internal teams and despatchers as required to make sure the paperwork matches
- Safety and Cleanliness: keep the work area clean, tidy, hazard-free work and strictly follow health and safety rules at all times
- Equipment Use: Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to load, unload, and transport goods throughout the warehouse. Carry out basic maintenance tasks as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Past experience working in a warehouse environment is beneficial but not necessary
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle repetitive manual lifting, bending, and standing for long shift periods.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy when reading labels, checking manifests, and scanning inventory.
- Equipment Operation: Ability or willingness to learn how to safely operate pump trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts. Valid forklift licence would be advantageous.
- Teamwork: Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and other team members.
- Digital understanding: Comfortable using basic apps on tablets and/or computer systems
Pay: From £13.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
