Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and cooking of meals in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
- Cook and assemble meals according to specified recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Support with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of supplies needed
- Serve meals to customers or clients in a courteous and professional manner
- Follow health and safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination and accidents
- Assist with setting up dining areas for service
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a restaurant or hotel
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen setting
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks throughout the shift
- Previous experience in meal preparation, serving, or culinary roles is highly desirable
Pay: £13.00 per hour
