About the Role:
We are recruiting 1 full time Support Worker and 1 bank Support Worker to join a friendly and dedicated team supporting a woman to live independently in her own home. This is a rewarding role where you will build a consistent, trusting relationship and support her to enjoy everyday life, from music and trips out, to time at the seaside.
The role requires flexibility across a 7 day rota and confidence supporting self harm behaviours in a calm, person centred way. You will work within a clear support plan, alongside experienced colleagues, with full training and ongoing support provided.

Shift Patterns & Hours: 24/7 package
We are recruiting a bank Support Worker, with flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness as required.
- Day-time shifts : 08:00 - 21:00 (13 hours)
- 24 hour shifts: 08:00 - 08:00 (including sleep-in)
- Sleep-ins: 10 hours
- Flexibility to cover shifts when staff are unavailable
- Ability to cover maternity leave from July 2026
About the Client
- Female, aged 37, living alone and supported by staff.
- Has an acquired brain injury, Autism, ADHD, and suffers from anxiety. She is also registered blind.
- Displays self-harm behaviours.
- Fully mobile but requires guidance and prompts from staff.
- Full oral diet, but needs her food prepared and monitored indirectly due to a risk of choking.
- Limited communication
- Requires assistance with toileting, bathing, and grooming to maintain hygiene and dignity.
Role Responsibilities:
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist the client with daily personal care tasks such as toileting, bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure hygiene and comfort.
- Meal Preparation and Supervision: Prepare meals according to the client's dietary needs and supervise during meals to prevent choking risks.
- Mobility Support: Provide guidance and support to the client as she moves around her home and community, considering her visual impairment.
- Medication Management: Ensure that the client receives her medications covertly as prescribed, integrated with her meals.
- Behaviour Management: Manage challenging behaviours such as self-harm and aggression in a compassionate and effective manner.
- Driving and Transportation: Drive the client in her own WAV for outings, appointments, and activities, ensuring her safety and engagement.
- Activity Planning and Engagement: Support the client in participating in her hobbies and interests, such as listening to music, watching musicals, and attending festivals, to enhance her quality of life.
- Health and Safety: Maintain a safe environment, promptly addressing any hazards or emergencies that may arise.
- Communication Support: Assist the client with her communication needs, recognising and adapting to her limited capacity for interaction.
- Emotional Support: Provide empathetic support and establish a therapeutic relationship, adapting interactions to the client’s needs and preferences.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and be confident to drive the client's automatic vehicle (MG ZS Triumph ).
- Must be confident supporting individuals who display self harm behaviours and able to follow agreed support plans confidently, consistently and compassionately.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and adapt communication styles to meet the client's needs.
- Experience in caring for individuals with ABI, Autism, ADHD, and anxiety is preferable.
- Empathetic, patient, and able to build a therapeutic relationship.
- Good sense of humour, especially appreciating comical humour, once familiar with the client.
