We are looking for a friendly, organised and enthusiastic person to join our team at SJH Flooring & Interiors.
This is a varied, shop-based role combining customer service, showroom sales and general administration. No previous experience within the flooring or soft furnishing industry is required, as full training will be provided. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, develop their knowledge and build a long-term career with us.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcoming and assisting customers in our showroom, helping them with their flooring and soft furnishing requirements
- Dealing with customer enquiries in person, over the telephone and via email
- Helping customers choose from our range of carpets, LVT, wood flooring, rugs, blinds, shutters, soft furnishings, paints and wallpapers
- Preparing quotations, invoices and orders
- Processing customer orders and liaising with suppliers to arrange deliveries and check availability
- Booking and organising customer appointments, surveys and fitting dates
- Assisting with the coordination of our fitting schedules and keeping customers updated
- Maintaining accurate customer records and carrying out general office administration
- Assisting with accounts and keeping paperwork and computer records up to date
- Handling day-to-day showroom enquiries and helping to keep the showroom looking presentable
- Learning about our products, suppliers and the flooring and interiors industry
- Developing product knowledge and confidence when speaking with customers
- Working as part of a small, friendly team and supporting colleagues when required

- A positive attitude and willingness to get involved
- Previous retail, administration or customer service experience would be useful, but is not essential
- No previous flooring or soft furnishing experience required – full training will be provided
THE ROLE
- Shop/showroom based
- Hours and salary negotiable depending on experience
- Saturday mornings (4 hours) may be required
- When required, ability to travel between our Wincanton & Langport branches
- Full training and ongoing support
