About the role
We are seeking a reliable, personable and practical individual to join our team as a Part time Handyman/woman and Mini bus Driver within in a well established and welcoming retirement village community. We are a unique mutually owned community of 71 leasehold properties set in a picturesque valley just outside Nailsworth. This is a varied role combining general maintenance duties with driving responsibilities, helping to ensure residents enjoy a safe and comfortable environment. We are a real living wage employer.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general repairs to the estate and individual properties.
- Undertake routine inspections of communal areas and report defects.
- Assist with grass cutting and strimming
- Support health & safety compliance
- Provide transport to shops, appointments and outings
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness at all times
- Assist residents when boarding and exiting the vehicle
About You
- Experienced in handyman or maintenance work
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Friendly, patient and respectful manner
- Good understanding of Health & Safety
- Able to work independently with attention to detail
Desirable
- Experience in a retirement village or care environment
- Knowledge of compliance such as fire safety
- First aid training
Safeguarding and Compliance
An enhance DBS check will be required. References and right to work checks will be undertaken. The successful candidate must adhere to safeguarding and health & safety policies.
