17m Telehandler Operator / Building Erector – 2 Positions

Shift: IMPORTANT 12 hour day shifts (07:30-19:30) over the weekend leading on to night shifts (17:00-05:00) Monday onwards
Hours: 12-hour shifts
Rate: £25
Location: Rogerstone Newport
Duration: Approx 1.5 weeks

We are looking for two experienced 17-metre Telehandler Operators / Building Erectors to join our team on a commercial construction project.
The work will involve the re-erection of a large aluminium-framed industrial/commercial structure with fabric roofing sheets.
The project is due to start on Saturday 19th September 2026, so candidates must be available to start from this date and be comfortable working 12-hour shifts leading on to night shifts.
The Role
This is not a telehandler-only position.
We are looking for experienced operators who are confident getting out of the machine and carrying out hands-on building erection work as instructed.
Duties will include:
- Operating a 17m telehandler safely and efficiently.
- Assisting with the erection of an aluminium-framed structure.
- Physically assembling, positioning and securing structural components.
- Working at height where required.
- Using hand and power tools.
- Assisting with lifting, positioning and fitting structural components.
- Working as part of an experienced building erection crew.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Following all site health and safety procedures.
About You
You will need have previous experience in:
- Operating telehandlers as part of a building erection project
- Industrial or commercial steel building erection
Requirements
- Valid 17m telehandler qualification/certification
- Proven telehandler operating experience
- Ideally scissor and boom qualification/certification
- Previous building or structural erection experience
- Comfortable working at height
- Physically capable of carrying out manual work
- Able to use basic hand and power tools
- Good understanding of site health and safety
- Reliable and punctual
- Available for 5pm–5am night shifts
