About the Role
Scruffy Dog Productions Limited is a leading creative design and production company delivering world-class themed attractions, immersive experiences, scenic environments, and bespoke fabrication projects. We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our Birmingham workshop, producing high-quality metal fabrications that meet the highest standards of craftsmanship, safety, and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and MMA welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
- Fabricate and assemble bespoke metal structures and scenic components from engineering drawings.
- Interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate fabrication to specification.
- Operate fabrication machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Carry out quality inspections and maintain excellent finishing standards.
- Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, and production teams to deliver projects on time.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment while complying with all Health & Safety regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
- NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Welding/Fabrication.
- Proven experience in MIG, TIG, and MMA welding.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong fabrication, measuring, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in bespoke fabrication, structural steel, or scenic production is desirable.
