Are you an experienced care professional looking for the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for supporting people to live fulfilling, independent lives while inspiring others to deliver outstanding care?
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Care Team Leader to join the team at Elizabeth House, Enham Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about person-centred care and wants to play a key role in leading a team to provide exceptional support to residents.
As a Care Team Leader, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support to our Support Workers and Domestic Staff, ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality care that promotes choice, independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
You will be a role model for the Skills for Care Code of Conduct for Adult Social Care Workers in England, embedding our values and a person-centred approach into everything you do.
About the role
You will be an integral part of the care team, combining leadership responsibilities with direct care delivery. You will support the Registered Manager in maintaining excellent standards of care, ensuring the service meets CQC regulations, legislation, and Enham Trust/Aster Group policies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
-
Leading, supporting, and motivating a team of Support Workers and Domestic Staff, providing supervision, coaching, and guidance to promote best practice.
-
Acting as a positive role model, demonstrating compassionate, person-centred care and encouraging the same approach across the team.
-
Supporting residents with their individual care needs while promoting independence, choice, control, and wellbeing.
-
Ensuring residents have personalised care plans and risk assessments that reflect their wishes, preferences, goals, and aspirations.
-
Supporting residents to set meaningful goals that encourage confidence, independence, and participation in daily life.
-
Ensuring residents have opportunities to take part in meaningful activities that reflect their interests and promote a fulfilling lifestyle.
-
Taking responsibility for safe medication management, including administration, storage, and adherence to medication procedures.
-
Monitoring residents’ health and wellbeing, recognising changes, and working with healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate support is provided.
-
Supporting safeguarding processes and responding appropriately to concerns, incidents, accidents, and complaints.
-
Working collaboratively with families, loved ones, and external professionals to ensure residents receive consistent and holistic support.
-
Supporting recruitment, induction, training, and development of new team members.
-
Completing audits, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to service improvement plans.
-
Supporting a welcoming, personalised, and positive environment where residents feel at home.
-
Taking an active role within the care rota, including shift leadership and direct care responsibilities.
About you
You will be an experienced care professional who understands the importance of empowering people and delivering support that is driven by the individual, not just the task.
You will have:
-
Experience delivering high-quality personal and social care.
-
Experience supporting people with physical and emotional health needs.
-
Experience of leading, coaching, or supporting colleagues within a care environment.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues, and professionals.
-
Knowledge of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
-
The ability to support people with complex needs while promoting dignity, respect, and independence.
-
Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate care records.
-
A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or L2 (willingness to work towards Level 3)
-
A passion for supporting people with complex needs, always promoting dignity and respect
-
You must pass a DBS check or be registered on the DBS Update Service.
-
Experience of working within a CQC-registered service, supporting people living with disabilities, medication administration, electronic care systems, and staff supervision would be desirable.
