Job Advert – Outreach Support Worker
Location: Howdon
Hours: 4 hours per week
Pay: £14.05 per hour
We are looking to recruit a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Outreach Support Worker to support a child with autism and learning disabilities.
The role involves providing respite for the family by accompanying the child on outings within the local community. You will support him to access a range of activities, develop his confidence, build social skills, and enjoy positive experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Accompany the child to community-based activities and outings.
- Support him to participate in activities that match his interests and abilities.
- Encourage social interaction and help develop independence and confidence.
- Ensure the child’s safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child and his family.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Kind, patient, and understanding.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Experienced in supporting children with autism and/or learning disabilities (desirable).
- Able to encourage participation in fun, engaging activities.
- In possession of an enhanced DBS check or willing to obtain one.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a DBS application. This will be funded by the employer.
