Qualitas Housing are a non-profit Community Benefit Society that provides a range of housing options such as Supported Housing and healthcare facilities for vulnerable people. We work in partnership with different organisations for the benefit of those living in the communities in which we operate.
We are looking for an experienced Referrals & Income Officer to join the growing team within our Supported Housing portfolio. As a Referrals & Income Officer you will be responsible for managing rent collection and working with colleagues across different business areas to deliver an effective income management service.
The role will be office based in Blackburn but hybrid working options can be discussed with your line manager.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all rent and tenant associated fees are collected
- Reconciling tenant’s rent accounts, identifying rent shortfall and causes
- Ensure all KPI’s on cash collection and bad debt are met or exceeded
- Provide support to the housing team ensuring that claims for Housing Benefit are completed on time and submitted with the correct documentation.
- Monitor the progress of individual Housing Benefit cases and ensure that all Housing Benefit related queries are responded to in a timely manner
- Organising and maintaining filing systems (electronically and paper), updating policies and procedures, liaising with local authorities and external partners.
- General administration duties
- Prepare and provide accurate information and relevant documents for Court, Tribunals, mediation, complaints, enquiries, etc.
- Other reasonable duties as required by your line manager
Experience
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (essential)
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills (essential)
- Good time-management and Organisation Skills (essential)
- Experience in dealing with Housing Benefit claims (essential)
- Worked within a Housing environment (preferred)
- Experience using Housing Management Systems (preferred)
