Join our team as a Finance Supervisor

We are looking for a Finance Supervisor to join our Accounts, Payroll and Personnel team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, commercially aware and confident working across a broad range of financial functions, while supporting the smooth and effective operation of the organisation.
You will play an important role within the finance function, overseeing day-to-day activities and ensuring that our financial and employee records remain accurate, compliant and up to date.
About the role
As Finance Supervisor, you will have a varied and hands-on role, working closely with colleagues across the organisation. You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining a range of key financial processes and will have day to day support from our external company Accountants.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate employee payroll records.
- Producing financial and management reports to support effective decision-making.
- Completing accurate income reconciliation.
- Maintaining accurate sales and purchase ledgers.
- Ensuring accounting records are complete, accurate and maintained to a high standard.
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts.
- Supporting the preparation of and submitting VAT returns.
- Maintaining accurate records.
- Working collaboratively with departments across the organisation to ensure financial information is accurate and timely.
This is a role where attention to detail really matters. You will be trusted with confidential and commercially sensitive information, so a high level of professional integrity, discretion and reliability is essential.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is confident working in a busy finance environment and who can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
You will have:
- Level 2 AAT qualification or equivalent.
- GCSE Grade 4 in English and Mathematics desirable.
- Knowledge of Xero Accounts System, or similar
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
- Strong written, communication and IT skills. Microsoft products
- The ability to build effective working relationships across different departments.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- A high level of confidentiality, integrity and professional judgement.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team.
- A flexible and proactive approach to your work.
- A full, UK driving licence.
Experience of payroll, management accounts, VAT returns and financial reconciliation would be particularly advantageous. On going training and support will be available
