At Burnfield Care Home, the Front of House Assistant is a key member of our team. They should assist the Catering Team in ensuring that the agreed standards are maintained at all times, ensuring the residents are provided with a high standard of food to meet dietary requirements. Must also ensure the provision of an excellent service at all times and demonstrating compassion and empathy in the resident-centred role.
They will report to senior staff and management, and may have regular contact with other staff members, and other relevant persons and professionals whilst carrying out their duties.
Requirements:
- Good communication, both written and verbal;
- Maintain a professional and welcoming approach at all times when dealing with residents
- To work in accordance with Kosher guidelines
- Be able to organise workload with the objective of providing a high quality service
- To ensure the standards agreed by management are maintained at all times
- Assist in the serving of meals/preparation of the dining rooms
- Cleaning of kitchen/dining rooms
- Play an active role in the dining room service whilst assuming a fair share of the workload within the team
- To keep up to date with current developments and legislative guidance
- Ensure the kitchen has the stock required to provide an efficient service to the residents and advise the senior cooks/catering manager accordingly regarding requirements
- Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen at the start, during and the end of the working day
- Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the company’s business and residents particulars
- Comply with internal company policies, rules and procedures at all times and also comply with the care standards
- Promote safe working practice within the home in accordance with health and safety regulations/food safety and hygiene/infection control
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene at all times
- Be familiar with all Home security measures and ensure that the premises are locked and secured at all times
- Ensure the safety of the residents personal belongings
Previous catering experience will be a distinct advantage. A positive demeanour and willingness to engage with colleagues and residents is essential.
Previous catering experience is desirable but not essential.
Hours of work:
- 3 days per week as per the rota (including weekends)
- 11:30am - 7:00pm
- 21 hours per week
