Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating Bystronic laser cutting machines to produce high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, drawings, ability to manage production paperwork and be capable of inspecting their own work to the highest standards. Duties
- Operate Bystronic laser cutting machines to fabricate sheet metal parts according to specifications.
- Select optimum cutting programs and appropriate fixtures
- Set up and adjust tooling and equipment for optimal performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure efficient operation.
- Interpret technical drawings to determine production requirements
- Perform quality and quantity checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
- Ensure all finished goods are palletised correctly, and complete & sign off production paperwork
- Fork Lift Truck operation
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Skills
- Proficient in using hand tools and mechanical equipment.
- Proficient in CNC operations
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to production.
- Good understanding of general safety, and awareness of electrostatic discharge, foreign object damage and quality systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
