About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, effective, and patient-focused pharmaceutical services. The role involves ensuring the safe supply of medicines, providing clinical advice, supporting medication management, and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality pharmacy services while maintaining compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Dispense prescription medicines accurately and safely in accordance with legal and professional requirements.
Review prescriptions to ensure appropriate dosage, medication suitability, and patient safety.
Provide professional advice and counselling to patients regarding medicines, usage instructions, and potential side effects.
Conduct medication reviews and support effective medicines optimisation.
Liaise with doctors, healthcare professionals, and other healthcare providers regarding patient medication needs.
Ensure the safe storage, handling, and management of pharmaceutical products.
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy support staff.
Maintain accurate patient records, dispensing records, and documentation.
Monitor pharmaceutical stock levels and support effective inventory management.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality assurance processes, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with data protection legislation.
Support continuous improvement of pharmacy services and patient care standards.
Skills and Experience Required
Qualified Pharmacist with a recognised pharmacy qualification.
Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body (e.g., General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) for UK practice).
Previous experience working in a pharmacy, hospital, community pharmacy, or healthcare environment.
Strong knowledge of medicines, clinical pharmacy practices, and pharmaceutical regulations.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to make safe professional decisions.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Desirable Skills
Experience with electronic prescribing systems and pharmacy management software.
Experience providing medication reviews and clinical pharmacy services.
Experience supervising pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants.
