CANTO Learning Ltd began its journey in 1992 when local authority funding was secured to work with adults, at the then factory, to support them with their personal lives and the various challenges they faced.
CANTO Ltd was formed primarily under adult social care funding which still plays a very large part of the college offering ½ day workshops such as horticulture, cooking, craft, hospitality, well-being and much more. All of these workshops are aimed at building and developing students personal and social skills, independence and communication skills.
CANTO Ltd then began delivering education programmes, aimed at supporting students who are leaving school, to continue their education. The pathways which all have a different focus. Pathway 1’s is communication, Pathway 2’s is independence, Pathway 3’s is volunteering, Pathway 4’s is employability or further education, and our Supported Internship Pathway is paid employment.
In 2016 CANTO Ltd became CANTO Learning Ltd, a registered charity.
