Duties
- Supervise daily dispensary operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to all legal and safety regulations
- Oversee medication inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Train and support staff on pharmacy technician responsibilities, medication administration protocols, and patient care procedures
- Ensure accurate dispensing of medications while verifying prescriptions for correctness and compliance
- Provide excellent patient care by addressing questions, offering medication counseling, and ensuring a positive experience
- Maintain meticulous records of medication transactions, inventory logs, and compliance documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to support safe medication practices and resolve any dispensing issues promptly
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, accurate cash handling, and proficiency with EPOS systems.
- Ability to work a flexible Monday to Friday rota, including occasional evening shifts or bank holidays as required by the business.
Experience
- Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medication administration processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise a team within a healthcare or pharmacy setting
- Knowledge of patient care principles related to medication management and safety protocols
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and inventory control
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in retail or customer service (dispensary or pharmacy retail experience is a strong advantage).
